The Scottish Links at Glenlaurel

The Scottish Links at Glenlaurel is a very rustic course capturing the topography of the Scottish turf as it was played over a century ago. Don’t expect the lush greens and manicured fairways or the shinning golf cart waiting for your arrival. But do except to live out a dream of playing golf as it was in its infancy along with all the imperfections it had in those times.

As you roam through each of the 8 holes with 4 original hickory shaft clubs in your hand, along with a sand tee mold in your pocket, you will be lost for about 90 minutes in the remarkable history of golf. Our golf balls, which are included with the cost of one round, will match the distances of the golf balls from that era…about 100 years ago. Our scorecards denote the yardage for each hole by identifying the hole by a name rather than a “hole” number and they also provide a stymie line on the scorecard to assure you a 6-inch stymie rule.

We know it will be a little work to smooth out the sand green after each hole is played to assure the next golfers a smooth surface, but it does replicate the way it used to be.
