Outdoor Adventure Itinerary

Though many of our guests stay with us for a romantic getaway, there are just too many outdoor adventures waiting for you to explore in Hocking Hills that we’d hate for you to miss out on! If you prefer a wee bit more adventure and activity on your vacations, view our outdoor adventure itinerary to see what you need to add to your travel plans.

Friday

Check-in and then check out your luxurious accommodations for the weekend. Whether you’ve booked a room, suite, croft, or cottage for your Ohio adventure, you’ll be delighted with the amenities, attention to detail, and character each room commands.

After getting organized or refreshed in your room, head out onto our spacious grounds. Start your adventure off on the right foot with our private hiking trails and waterfalls or find one of our hammocks for a bit of privacy.

You may have worked up quite the appetite during your stroll, and you’re in luck, as it’s time to head back inside for dinner. This two-hour experience takes you on a culinary adventure over six-courses and on select nights some live entertainment.

After a great night of good food and even better company, head outdoors for a night of lively conversation and fun around the bonfire.

Saturday

You’ll want to be up at a decent hour to head down to our full three-course breakfast! Featuring scones, our famous porridge, and a delicious breakfast entrée, this breakfast will be sure to give you plenty of energy for your first full-day adventure in Hocking Hills!

In fact, you’re starting your day with a Hocking Hills Adventure Trek. These expert guided hikes can take you on a State Forest tour, visit a nature preserve, teach nature photography skills, or rappel waterfalls. You choose the adventure that suits your skill and comfort level. The Hocking State Forest Trek is a popular choice where you’ll see waterfalls, rock formations, and learn about the wildlife and plants that call the forest home.

Either enjoy a pre-packed lunch or stop somewhere before heading over to Lake Logan for some fishing or boating around the lake.

Visit your room to change for dinner and join the other guests at the pub social hour for some light snacks and refreshments. Stay for dinner or have dinner delivered to your room!

After your meal, head out onto the ground with a blanket and a sweater or two for some stellar stargazing.

Sunday

We know you’re excited to explore but don’t explore on an empty stomach! Head back down for a delicious breakfast before beginning your day in Hocking Hills!

Rent a bike so you can ride our bike paths and trails, such as the Hockhocking Adena Bikeway, a 21-mile path that lets you ride along the Appalachian foothills! Biking is a great way to get to know our area better and enjoy the wonderful outdoors.

After a morning of pedaling your way around our trails and woods, head back to Glenlaurel for a delightful picnic lunch! You may enjoy your lunch in your room or suite, but when the weather’s nice you can’t beat an outdoor old-fashioned picnic.

Sticking with a wheel-themed day, you’re off to our Hocking Hills Nature Trails! This site is designed to wow even the most skilled ATV riders with bridges, streams, rocks, and a mud bog! You could spend hours here and still find a new scene around every turn.

Join us for another wonderful six-course meal tonight, you’ll definitely have earned it with all the exploration you did today.

After dinner, join your new friends around the bonfire, look up at the sky for some stargazing, or tuck in a little early.

Monday

Enjoy our hearty breakfast before you begin another day of exploring Hocking Hills.

Next, you’re off to discover another type of trail found throughout our area: rivers! Schedule a canoe or kayak excursion for a morning on the river to work out your arms and give your legs a break after yesterday’s biking adventure.

We’d love to craft a picnic lunch for you again or you may stop at any local restaurant while you’re out and about. Between dinners and breakfasts at Glenlaurel, you might only need a snack or light lunch, and today is no exception as you’re spending your afternoon high among the trees.

A 50 mph adrenaline rush waits for you at the Hocking Hills Canopy Tour. For about three hours, you’ll enjoy the rush of ziplining and the stunning views from the treetops.

Tuesday

The early bird gets the scrumptious worm as you eat your final breakfast during your stay at Glenlaurel. Savor every bite before you make your way onto our grounds.

Tee off to some fun on our on-site 8-hole golf course ! Try your hand at Scottish golf, the way it was played 100 years ago. Don’t worry if the game is going as well as you hoped, as the old saying goes, “Failing means you’re playing!”

Pick up a picnic lunch or ask for one of our cheese trays to be delivered to your room for a delightful afternoon of snacking. Take some time to relax and take a leisurely stroll around the grounds and see if you find any spots you missed on your first day here.

This evening, you’re in for some fun with a touch of romance with a sunset horseback riding expedition!

As you return to Glenlaurel, take one last look at our breathtaking views of the starry sky before turning in for a great night’s rest before your departure.

Wednesday

As you check-out, we’ll be wishing you a haste ye back!
