The MacIntosh Cottage
Charles Rennie MacIntosh, the Glasgow-born architect and designer whose bold designs helped usher in modern architecture and his wife Margaret MacDonald collaborated with him and encouraged his mystical watercolors as seen in this cottage in Hocking Hills, Ohio. His abstract kissing butterflies are carved into the mantle and are symbolic of their art style.
All the heavy wood furniture in MacIntosh Cottage is of the “mission” style so popular in American and European homes today.
The spacious bath suite has a walk-in closet, vanity prep for two, and all the necessary bath amenities. The inner bath suite has a two-person shower stall and other necessities. Enjoy the warmth of two fireplaces (one in the sitting area and the other in the bedroom). Venture into the bedroom and when you open the double French doors, you will find a private hot tub. Your senses will delight in the warmth of an anticipated hot tub soak and the quiet sounds of nature.
